How to upload a list into MailChimp
1. Login to Mailchimp.
2. Once logged in, find "Audience" in the lefthand navigation. Click on "Audience Dashboard." Towards the top right content of the page, you'll find a dropdown button that says "Manage Audience". Click on this, and then click on "Import Contacts".

3. Click on "Upload a file". Load the list file in .csv format from the database administrator.

4. After loading the list, Mailchimp will present you with a series of list import settings. The biggest one they need to have is be set to "Subscribed" in order to receive emails from us, then if they'd like to join any specific group, this is the place to add them. Make sure the "Update any existing contacts" is checked to avoid duplicate contacts. If importing a list only to add a tag, it'll do just that — add a tag without changing any other information to the batch of people.

5. Add tags to the contacts which will be imported. This is the perfect time and place to add a unique tag with the intent of sending a targeted email to people in this list (or excluding people with this tag).

6. Lastly, connect all data fields. Thinks like making sure name, address, email, and other fields needed for this import are added to our Mailchimp data mapping. Once connected, click on "Finalize Import". Depending on the size of the list, it could be instantaneous, or take a few minutes to import. Tags added should be visible soon after as well.
